Getting by with a little help from my friend

Let’s face it, being creative isn’t always easy, and neither is keeping up with the ever-changing software used in the creation of logos, ads, brochures, annual reports, websites, or even PowerPoint presentations. So whenever I need a little extra help, I call on my friend Lynda Weinman. She has her own website which you may have heard of call Lynda.com. On that sight, you will find hundreds of video tutorials on leading software topics including Adobe, Apple and Microsoft products. I have learned an immense amount of tips and tricks from Lynda, and she never asks for much in return, only $25 a month. That’s what it costs to to access video based tutorials taught by industry experts and available 24/7 for convenient, self-paced learning. Now, how many friends to you have available to you around the clock? O.K. I’ll admit, Lynda is not really my friend, but she’s gotten me out of so many snags, I feel she might as well be. And by the way, you can go to Lynda.com for creative inspiration as well. As a matter of fact, there’s an area on the right hand side of her home page called Creative Inspirations. This section contains short documentaries given by creative pros ranging from designers, illustrators, photographers, and even musicians. What I really like about this is that by being up close and personal, it gives you insight into how other creative professionals approach their own projects.
