Even World War II Vets Use PowerPoint

I got a very unusual request this month. It was from an 88 year old man from Florida who was a veteran of World War II. He had lots of stories to tell about his professional life, as well as his years in the service. To his credit, he came up with the idea of sharing his life with his great-grandchildren by putting together a “show and tell” biography in PowerPoint. There were a few things about the PowerPoint interface that were a challenge to him, but heck, the guy is 88! I admire someone who wants to pass on their legacy. And it never would have occurred to me to use PowerPoint to do it. But it made perfect sense, because this guy was a naturalist, and a collector, so he had tons of pictures to illustrate the journey his life had taken, from his school days, to his first jobs, to his time in the military. He asked me to help him figure out a few things, which I gladly did for very little money. After all, how often do you get to help out a vet or thank him for his service to the country?
